1 WELCOME BACK to the blog...
2 Purpose and mission...
Chain of Heart's Friendship Group began on the second Tuesday of March, 2004. We are first and foremost a "sowing" ministry. Also, sewing, knit, crochet, stamping and creative work of all kinds.
Our desire is to have fellowship with those we already know, as well as helping women build new friendships within a supportive Christian environment.
Second, we learn from each other, teach each other and freely share our talents and skills. It is our aim to promote interaction through the generations.
Third, projects and donations given "to" approved charities. These are not required tasks by those attending, rather projects that are an option to choose from if you would like to participate.
Fourth, projects and donations given "in" charity/love to an approved cause which may not be considered a charitable organization and/or individual (example: military, missions, missionaries, pastors, speakers) etc.
Individual personal projects are welcome! Please... feel free to bring any project you are working on. It is always fun to share and tell projects.

3 Trinity Quilt...

Trinity Quilt ~ The first in a series of God Story Quilts. . .
On a meeting night, in 2004, one of our ladies spent time designing a quilt to represent Chain of Heart's Friendship Group, such as a team logo. What she developed was three hearts within one, representing the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. After it was completed, the quilt not only became a representation of our group, but an outreach. It is our goal that the quilts be used as an evangelism tool.
CHALLENGE. . . Can you design a quilt? This will be another in the series of God's Story Quilts.
Guidelines: You must use a grid of 7 blocks across, and 9 blocks down. The blocks will be the same size as the Trinity Quilt. Cut 6 1/2", finished 6". The theme of the quilt needs to be within the grid. You may make the quilt larger by adding borders.
The pattern must include bible scriptures to tell its story. Please provide the scripture reference with the pattern. The pattern should be simple enough for beginner quilters, or easy to follow instructions. (The blocks in the Trinity Quilt, nine patch, heart block, plain blocks, applique, etc. provided learning experience as well as fun for experienced quilters.)
The only rules are: Have fun, and be willing to share the pattern submitted to Chain of Heart's so that we may share it with the world. Have fun!

3a Story behind the Trinity Quilt
After Tony was finished designing the quilt, Ruby took it the design home to look at it. After studying the quilt pattern, the following story developed.
As Joseph was given his coat of many colors out of love, in Genesis 37:3, we give the quilts of many colors out of love too.
Our group's signature is John 15:12 "This is My commandment that you love one another as I have loved you."
When you look closely at the design of the quilt, there are three distinct heart shapes. The heart block is for our Father in heaven. The nine patch block is for His Son, Jesus Christ, who came to earth, was bruised and beaten and gave his life for our salvation. The big heart in the middle is for the Holy Spirit who lives in the hearts of each and every true follower of Jesus Christ. He is our comforter, our guide, our light in a dark world.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." (The heart God block)
John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father except by Me." (The nine patch Jesus block) The blocks have been sliced and put back together to symbolize the beating and death of Jesus Christ. The reason the blocks are missing from the sides symbolize the three day break in the tomb, then He rose from the grave and conquered death.
John 16:7 "Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is profitable for you if I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Holy Spirit) will not come to you. But if I go away, I will send Him to you." (The big Holy Spirit heart in the middle)
Hosea 4:6 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you and forget your children."
II Chronicles 7:14 "If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land."
Matthew 22:37-39 "And Jesus said to him, you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it; you shall love your neighbor as you do yourself.
Joshua 1:8 "This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do nothing to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success."

3b Biblical Numerics of the Trinity Quilt

In addition to the story of the creation of this wonderful quilt pattern, the following is the rest of the story...
It is quite amazing that the day this pattern was developed, there was no thought given to Hebrew numerics. Seven months later the following was discovered which finished the story of the quilt. (Note: in Hebrew seven means completion)
The heart blocks are intented to be the God block. There are 14 blocks, and in Hebrew numerics that means deliverance, salvation.
The nine patch blocks symbolize the Jesus block of the Trinity. There are 12 blocks, and that means governmental perfection.
The center plain blocks represent the Holy Spirit. There are 13 blocks and they mean apostasy, depravity, rebellion. Isn't is amazing as the Holy Spirit lives in the hearts of sinful men.
The plain blocks surrounding the Trinity hearts total 19, and that number means faith.
